In today’s modern electronic office, a background in microcomputers is necessary for being successful in the accounting field. The dual option is designed to give the students the necessary tools to be successful in this environment. The latest software packages are used as well as business-oriented accounting principles.

Students will use IBM compatible computers and systems for all microcomputer applications. The Business Administration part of the program is designed to allow for acquiring a broad background in the management area.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITES FOR THIS PROGRAM

FBLA Scholarship
Newport Business Institute may award two scholarships valued at up to one-half of the total tuition cost. Recipients must be high school seniors, and the scholarship is based on academic excellence and good moral character. Deadline is February 28. Adult Scholarship
Newport Business Institute may award three scholarships a year valued at up to one-third of the total tuition cost. These scholarships are awarded to students who have been out of high school for at least one year. Deadline is three weeks prior to the start of the applicant's first or second quarter. Merit Scholarship
Newport Business Institute may award three merit scholarships a year valued at up to one-third of the total tuition cost. The scholarships are awarded to current high school seniors. Deadline is May 1. Please contact Newport Business Institute for more information.

Jeanne H. Mullen Scholarship
Newport Business Institute may award two scholarships a year valued at total tuition, fees, books, and supplies (less any grant aid) until the recipient graduates. The scholarship is open to all Oakmont Country Club Caddies. Deadline is March 15. Please contact Newport Business Institute for more information.

DECA Scholarship
Newport Business Institute awards one scholarship a year valued at up to one-half of the total tuition cost.  The recipient must be a member of DECA, a high school graduate and must maintain academic excellence. Deadline is May 1.

Alex Goshorn Memorial Scholarship
Newport Business Institute may award two scholarships valued at up to one-half of the total tuition cost. Recipients must be residents of Highlands School District, where Alex attended school. The scholarship is based on scholastic ability, moral character, and financial need. Deadline for the scholarship is three weeks prior to the start date of the applicants first quarter.
